“‘No Rights’” (2024) – “No Rights” is a redacted and remixed PPT (PPT2MP4) from a PhD defense (viva voce) held on May 31, 2024, in Ljubljana, Slovenia, a PhD project that also received the distinction of Summa cum laude – The silent presentation (primitive and slightly blurry MP4) tells the story of the PhD across the years 2021 to 2024 through a montage of image and text, versus rehearsing its discursive content – The premise is that the story is the content, inclusive of the long tail of the project, with its origins in earlier works – In advocating the elective abolition of intellectual property rights, the presentation also invokes the “voice of works,” versus the voice of the author per se – Prepared for the Circa Prize 2024
